YONEX VOLTRIC 9 LTD EDITION REVIEW
The Yonex Voltric 9 has two forms the regular one and the one released in accordance with the 2012 summer Olympics. In this blog I would like to post my views on the limited edition. The racket has the same Graphics as the other Limited edition versions. It has a majority of white color combined with a strikin blue and yellow Graphics at the frames and shaft. Yes the look is adorable.
It is a head heavy racket weighing around 80-84 gms accompanied with a G4 grip. The cover is the usual Voltric bag. With a few arm chair swings I was a bit sure that I can expect something new from this racket.
Hitting Time:
Racket form :
I customized the racket before taking it to court. I restrung it with a white Yonex BG 65 string and used another red colored Yonex synthetic grip. Initially the taps, yes that is my style. This helps to check the racket's speed. The weight at the head region can be felt. The racket is a bit slow than I expected yet it delivers some power with the weight in the head region.HITTING TIME :
Now, the clears. They are flawless. You dont have to use your complete arm power. Just the wrist works are enough to clear the shuttles to the back end. Now that seriously helps when you wish to toss a overhead shuttle from your back hand corner without using a back hand shot.SMASH & DEFENSE :
Its my favourite smashes now. Wait are those smashes or Bullets?? Yes I love these head heavy rackets that gives you an extra power. This racket has a medium flex shaft that aids the pros. I turns of defense it is a bit slow but with some wrist work and my 28lbs tension I was not troubled too much.NET PLAY :
Out in the nets, it proves again. But to be honest a racket is not so important for a net play its all about the player and his skills. Due to the extra tension my drop shots turn to tumble a bit but since I am used to playing with such high tensions they were ease too.CONCLUSION:
The racket costs around 112 US$. Any intermediate player who is looking for a head heavy racket with an attacking style may try this racket. But if you are not used to playing a head heavy racket it is advisable that you have a little practice prior to buying it. Remember all my review is my personal opinion and you may use it only as a reference. Feel free to share your views and queries.
